Old router and download speed
Hi,
I have a C3700 router purchased in 2014. Although it's working fine, downloading speed reaches only around 90 Mbps while my internet service provider supports up to 300 Mbps with my plan and my area. Uploading is around 11 Mbps, while the provider supports up to 10 Mbps. Even though C3700 should be able to download at up to 340 Mbps, is it possible an old cable modem router causes the downloading speed to slow down? Thank you.

Re: Old router and download speed
Xfinity has been requiring higher specs for lower and lower speed tiers. You'd actually have to contact them to see what speed tier they support with the C3700. If its faster speeds, then you might want to check your port speeds on the router.
If thats all they support, it might be time to look at upgrading to a docsis 3.1 device so you can use the speeds you're paying for.
