loosing the internet

Experinaceing short spirts of loss of internet.  It kicks me off my Work VPN.  Seems to happen around certian times of the day.  I am working form home on a company hardwaired laptop.  It has been driving me crazy. Upgrade  the the xfinity 600/35 plan but does not seam to help.  The modem/router lights do flash on the 2.4 and 5.  Everyone is pointing fingerts at the modem/router. can i give it a software update, but I am not sure how to do this, any thoughts?

  • The 2.4ghz/5gh lights flash when data is transmitting. Doesn't tell us much. 

    Do the drops happen if you're hardwired into the router? 

    Are you using 2.4ghz or 5ghz? 2.4ghz is slow and sensitive to interference.

      It does not seam to matter as I have tried different ways Hardwired or Wifi.  I have noticed also we run a MagicJack VPN phone line which has been fine until we started losing the Work VPN (Magic Jack and Work have a different VPN) and the quality on the Magic Jack phone line has not been very good lately.

        Is it only vpn's with issues or are all devices dropping? 

        Do you have a screen snip of the cable connections page and the event logs?
