Can't Update firmware of my Netgear MR1100

Hi there ..i got Unlocked Telstra Nighthawk M1 (MR1100) and currently it running under Sim card of Zain Kuwait ....my  current Frimware is NTG9X50C_10.12.02.01 which is back on 2017/01/28 ...every time i hit frimware update it keep checking and keep like that forever ...i tried to do it Via Netgear Mobile app and every time i get pop up message telling me update error ... i even tried Factory Reset and the problem remains ... How can i update this **bleep**en Router and even there is no way that i can update it Manually ??

You will have to contact telstra to see if they can update it.

before i had the same problems but i change the sim card then i change the APN after that i can update it .

I am using my local provider sim card and their APN.

i was using my local sim card but we had 3 deferent company’s i change from zain to mobily after that i add the mobily APN suddenly its work then i updated the firmware after that i returned my zian sim card and its work now

im also already updated, in malaysia got many telco and im try telco celcom but use another telco apn like..but it seem succesfull

dont see then point in locking the updates down.

surly Ntgear can assist here and allow manually allowing the firmwares to be updated

Exact same issue here and speaking to Telstra brings no resolution.

The unit doesn't find the new firmware to install regardless of what I try including, reboots, different SIMs,  a hard factory reset.

Netgear please just allow the firmware to be downloadable.

Since firmware updates are provided over the air by the carrier, and Telstra, AT&T, and a couple EU carriers are the only one's who officially support the device.  I don't really see any option but to take the device back to Austrailia and try to do an OTA update.  This may require the use of a Telstra SIM and APN.  Publically, at least, Netgear seems to be refusing to provide firmware or a tool to update it.  I had heard rumors of the launch of an unlocked commercial version of the MR1100 -- which presumably would require Netgear to provide direct support -- but I've not seen any official announcements to this effect.

Is something wrong with your current device, or do you just "want" a firmware upgrade?

You could try contacting Telstra support, but I suspect they would be unlikely to help you.  You might be able to find an Aussie friend on this board, ship them your MR1100, have him put his SIM in it, do the update, and ship it back to you.

bro, thanks for feedback, i got 2 unit, 1 unit already upgraded to newest firmware 10.25.01.00 on feb 2018, no need to send aussie friend just using malaysia simcard celcom telco and use apn default telstra but unit newly i purchased can’t upgrade, the checking is ok appeared current date and time, but its stated up to date actually still old firmware version, it should be appear download option to download software, maybe telstra stop server to push OTA upgrading

May it possible to get some good news about the firmware upadte probleme.

I buyed a TESLTRA MR1100 laus desimlocked. It work properly but it is impossible to update it.. 

There is an executable version off firmware to got a general version like the MR1100 -EUS.

Or there is a trick to force the firmware update?

Updating the firmware via the built in update function of the M1100 is bugged for some people currently. @tsoetant in a post above requested

some information to try and work out what is causing the issue. Netgear hasn't said if they are working on a fix for it yet, so I assume they haven't worked out the problem yet. There isn't any downloadable version available to manually update it yourself.
