MR1100 DNS returns the router address for all names!

No matter what address I try to ping it returns 192.168.1.1. Huh? WTF?

(Note that I don't have a data connection at the moment)

It shouldn't matter what DNS address I'm using since I'm not connected to the larger world so all DNS looks must fail and not return a bogus request.

        This is not true.

DNS is not solely an "internet" technology.  DNS can exist on an intranet that is not connected to the internet.

You didn't answer my question, so I cannot help you.  I had a very specific reason for my question.  I wanted to know what DNS server was assigned to your device by the DHCP server in the MR1100.  It doesn't matter if you are connected to the internet or not.

Also, it would help to know if you are pinging IP addresses (inside or outside your subnet) or if you are pinging FQDNs.
