MR1100 Remote Admin 2021 Question

I see threwads as old as 2017 asking for a remote admin option to the MR1100? After 4 years is this not an option? We are thinking of deploying these but without remote management of some sorts it won't go.  We are trying to put a VPN router behind it but we are running into issues.  Even tried putting a mikrotik as the VPN router and connecting to the netgear via wireless.  I have this but still get the message about having to be on the wireless. 

Anyone been able to get around this?
