MR5200 Slow data speed since NTGX55_12.04.12.00 firmware upgrade

Hi, I am using a MR5200-100EUS. Until recently I was getting reliable download speed of about 300Mbs. Since the firmware upgrade to NTGX55_12.04.17.00 this has dropped to just 30Mbs. I use external antenna on the roof so signal strength is excellent. Using the SIM card from the M5 in my smartphone I still get 300 Mbs download speed... so it looks like there's a problem with the firmware.

Is there any way to downgrade to the previous firmware until the problem is fixed?

  • Netgear no longer release FW for this kind of device, all going through OTA, so no chance to do FW downgrade. Once you run into problem, need to wait for next release cycle.

  • If you recently upgraded the firmware of your MR5200-100EUS router and have experienced a significant drop in download speed, it may indicate a problem with the new firmware. To address this issue, you can try downgrading to the previous firmware version until a fix is available. Check the manufacturer's website or support documentation for instructions on how to perform a firmware downgrade. This should restore your previous download speed until a new firmware version is released that resolves the issue.
