Nighthawk MR5200 (M5) - We need your feedback!
Good day Nighthawk Community,
I'm reaching out to you today in hopes of soliciting your help. If anyone is experiencing any issues with the Nighthawk MR5200 (M5) Mobile Hotspot we want to hear ...

Hi,
maybe it is possible to also help with the issue we experience.
We own two MR5200, let's call one "old" and the other one "new".
We use to run "old" with a Vodafone (Germany) SIM which originally came from a "Vodafone GigaCube", some kind of relabeled HUAWEI 5G Router. This setup was running fine for about 12 Month or so, but recently we started to experience interruptions of LTE connections after 12 to 24 hours. Only a reebot of "old" would help getting reconnected.
So we bought "new", used the very same SIM card with it. We experienced, that "new" wouldn't even connect to LTE nor any other band.
So we ordered a fresh SIM card and used in "new" but experienced the very same behaviour. "new" wouldn't connect to any band.
When using the fresh SIM card in "old", we were back to a connect time of about 12 to 24 hours, but then again interruptions of the connection.
JohnPengcould you take a look at the model.json stats if we upload them?
Many thanks in advance!

Hi,
MR5200 in france, used with external 5G antennas, replacing another 4G modem.
The MR5200 is hooked as a modem only to a Synology 2600ac that is fallbacking on my DSL connection if the 5G/4G is lost.
When using the ethernet port , randomly (either few minutes, les ours or less frequently a day) the ethernet connection is kind of lost, it is even worth if using IP passthrough.
USB seems a little bit more stable (but unfortunately the Synology seems to limit the bandwidth to 70/80Mbps in that case, but seems unrelated to the Netgear, as when Ethernet is working I'm reaching way higher throughput).
There is a full Thread on this: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Mobile-Routers-Hotspots-Modems/Netgear-Nighthawk-M5-MR5200-WAN-issue/td-p/2058528

Hi all,
I am currently trying to register and fully create a PDU session in 5G SA with the MR5200 but I am failing to to it (I have succeeded with other smartphone terminals).
Indeed, I have a testing 5G SA platform on which I have configured an end to end 5G SA architecture (core + GNB) in test plmn id 001 01.
When I try to scan available networks, the MR5200 doesn't seem to find my network (this network is available for other 5G SA devices such as smartphones).
Is the MR5200 locked for a restricted list of PLMN IDs ? Only operators ones ? Is it possible to use test PLMN IDs (such as 00101, 20880, 20890, ...) ?
Thanks in advance for your support and help.
BR.

I will NEVER EVER buy a netgear product again! It's 1 year that we are waiting for a firmware update to fix ETH Bridge Mode. It's a SHAME.
Netgear, you got my "good working" money for it.

Could you please advise what nr bands you are using to connect in SA? Currently, MR5200 doesn't support SA mode.
Thanks

Hello,
I work with flegall and I don't understand you answer. What do you mean by "MR5200 doesn't support SA mode"? The product's datasheet clearly states that the it support 5G SA in FR1 (sub 6) frequencies.
https://www.netgear.com/images/datasheet/mobile/MR5200.pdf
Page 7 :Key features
Latest 5G Technology: 5GNR Sub6GHz (N)SA
It is stated nowhere this is an upcoming feature.
For the record, here is the device information
SKU N°: MR5200-100EUS
Firmware version : NTGX55_12.04.12.00

The device can support n78 SA mode. But currently, it is not enabled yet.
