nighthawk MR2100-1TLAUS Frozen on start up screen

My M2 had been working fine before my internet dropped out. On inspection of the M2 it was showing a screen displaying "NETGEAR" with four dots under with the first dot highlighted.

- I removed dc power, battery and sim card.

- waited several miniutes

- replaced sim and batterry

- pressed start button

- M2 turned on to start up screen as above (NETGEAR with the four dots)

- the screen flashed once and returned to start up with only the first dot highlighted and frozen in this state.

- i pressed and held the reset button, there was no response.

repeated all of above with sim removed and sim installed, with battery only, with dc power only,

with DC and battery.

my Nighthawk M2 is only about 18 months old.

Using Telstra network in Australia.

Some help would be greatley appreciated.

  • I can't believe It. Only miniutes after posting for help, I have solved the issue. I am a little embaraced 😳 but this could help someone else. 

    With battery and sim installed 

    Powered up to frozen screen

    Kept holding reset button while watching the screen.😰

    ( The user manual says hold for 5 sec for a factory reset)

    The second dot took around the five seconds to highlight but it was nessecarry to keep holding the reset button for all 4 dots to activate or become highlighted.

    Not sure how long exactly, but it took some time?

    Then JOY . SOLVED
