Access point

Hi I have a question regarding creating an access point after connecting to the nbn. Am currently on adsl and using dngd3700 as the main point and running an ethernet from there to my sons room which is an outbuilding.  In his room I have an older netgear router connected to the ethernet cable and set up as an access point to give him a wireless signal in his room.

We will soon be switching to the nbn  FTTN which will require a new vdsl modem router.  My question is will I be able to use the dgnd3700 in my sons room set up as an access point (so he gets a wireless signal) or will I need a second vdsl router?  The only way for my son to get internet is via the ethernet that runs to his room as wireless signals from the house will not penetrate his walls.

Thanks

Re: Access point

The manual for the dgnd3700 says that it has a "Gigabit port for connecting to external cable/fiber modem".

>>>DGND3700v1 | Product | Support | NETGEAR<<<

You may have to tweak the settings of the new modem and the dgnd3700 to work together, depending on the new modem itself.
