D6220 firmware update V1.0.0.80_1.0.80 fails the chk check
Hi
I'm trying to update my router D6220 from V1.0.0.80_1.0.76 to V1.0.0.80_1.0.80, but the router stops the process saying the chk file from your website is not the correct one.
Could anyone help?

It isn't something I can find on the Netgear site.
Netgear's firmware numbering practice is to change all of the numbers. There will be only one V1.0.0.80_X.X.XX.
As it is, Netgear's graphical user interface (GUI) doesn't show the last bit.
Perhaps you mean Firmware Version 1.0.0.76 to V1.0.0.80.

How are you going about the update?

Thank you for your response and yes, you are right I was meant to say:
I'm trying to update my router D6220 from V1.0.0.76_1.0.76 to V1.0.0.80_1.0.80
The link you sent for the steps to upgrade my firmware are the ones I am using, with the exception that I'm connecting to my router using its local IP rather than https://www.routerlogin.net/.
Once I select the chk file from my local drive, it starts the process and before the progress bar reaches 20% of the total progress it stops and throws and error saying that my chk file isnt valid.
exact error:
This firmware file is incorrect! Please get the firmware file again and make sure it is the correct firmware for this product.
I've downloaded the firmware several times, same outcome. https://www.netgear.com/support/product/D6220.aspx#download
I've restarted my router in between, but nothing works.

Strange.
I haven't seen other reports with this firmware. And you have tried the usual trick, get another download.
One option is to reset the router before you try the update.
It would be a good idea to backup the current configuration before the process.
I assume that the D6220 is in the normal modem/router mode rather than modem only or AP.
