D7000v2 DNS issue

I have D7000v2 router with firmware v1.0.0.47. It was working fine till there was a problem with the ISP. After they fixed the problem the router couldn't resolve DNS requests. I tried with the router supplied by ISP and everything worked fine. I can open Google, Facebook, twitter & Netgear sites. Other sites (yahoo, apple, CNN, IBM, Cisco) and most of other sites doesn't open. I tried everything. I reset the device, used other popular DNS IPs, reloaded the firmware, etc...This problem happens on all devices connected to router, PC, Mac, iPad. I also noticed that when I check the WiFi settings it gives the information below which shows the DNS server IP is of the router. In my other router it shows the IPs configured for DNS Server. Here what it shows: SSID: NETGEAR NightHawk 1900AC Protocol: 802.11n Security type: WPA2-Personal Network band: 2.4 GHz Network channel: 6 IPv4 address: 192.168.0.2 IPv4 DNS servers: 192.168.0.1 Manufacturer: Intel Corporation Description: Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 Driver version: 19.50.1.6 Physical address (MAC):

That does suggest that the current problem was caused by the
(unspecified) ISP.

Disappointing, but not a guarantee that the D7000v2 is at fault.

   "used" where, exactly?

That's typical for a Netgear router.  (Among other things, that lets
it intercept queries about names like "routerlogin.net".)

> [...] In my other router it shows the IPs configured for DNS Server.

   That's ok, too.

Assuming that your D7000v2 looks like my D7000[v1], does BASIC >
Internet : Domain Name Server (DNS) Address show you the IP address(es)
of the DNS server(s) it's using?

> [...] SSID: NETGEAR NightHawk 1900AC [...]

Does a wired client device do any better than a wireless one?

Re: D7000v2 DNS issue

Hi antinode.

Thanks for your reply.  I setup the DNS first to use the DNS IPs provided by ISP.  Then I used Google public DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

The Netgear setup utility is the same accross its products I assume so) so mainly yes.  The DNS IPs are shown in the Internet Settings tab of Admin utility.
