D7000v2 with new firmware 1.0.0.80 (just release) drops connection (caution, 1.0.0.76 worked fine)

Hi, some days ago, I upgraded my D7000v2 from 1.0.0.76 version (working fine) to 1.0.0.80.

All worked fine except every day, VDSL connection goes to NOT CONNECTED and I need to restart router.

This is a terrible bug, since 1.0.0.76 version were working perfectly without these issues.

Just reinstalled 1.0.0.76, but caution with new firmware.

If more people notice the issue, please, tell us.... NETGEAR please, check the newest firmware.

Thanks for posting. Always helpful to have posts reporting problems.

Did you by chance do a factory reset/reinstall after changing the firmware? Sometimes old settings can cause issues.

Thanks, not, not reset to defaults (maybe could be a difference, but I need to import settings again, since large ip devices reserved, and maybe it´s the "same")

But reinstalled 1.0.0.76 and working fine again (without any reset)

I´m afraid a firmware bug.

Thanks

I'd make a backup of your current configuration.

that way next time, if there is issues, you can always try the factory reset. If it doesn't help, then you can downgrade and reinstall the backup without to much fuss.

Just updated some days ago with new 1.0.0.82 (instead 1.0.0.80) and working fine.

I think 1.0.0.80 was problematic and fast was solved.

thanks

Has .82 remained stable on your D7000v2? I also had a hang on prior to .80 firmware. I got 1 day out of .80 and went back to my old trusty DGND3700v1 running 3rd party firmware. It runs from power failure to power failure without a hitch or if I make a change. It easily runs 8+ months without any intervention.

Yes, at this time, stable and not locked up.

1.0.0.76 was stable too for me.

1.0.0.80, locked every day

1.0.0.82 seems as 1.0.0.76, then I can recommend update to it (and avoid 1.0.0.80)

Wow, after loading the .82 firmware my D7000v2 made it almost 48 hours before it locked up. The only way to get back to be able to log in to the D7000v2 or access the internet was to power cycle the D7000v2. Again, I've removed the D7000v2 POS from my network and put in the old trusty DGND3700v1 with reliable 3rd party firmware. At this point I've had it with Netgear. They may make good hardware, but their firmware and support is GARBAGE!

ISP  =  Centurylink VDSL2 60 down / 20 up

Unless Netgear wants to work with me directly to fix their GARBAGE firmware this will be the end of Netgear products for me and my clients.

1.0.0.82 to me works fine... 40 days working and any reboot need.

1.0.0.80 was buggy (and I´m afraid netgear discovered it and removed very fast)

Thanks
