NETGEAR Router (R6080) - AC1000; Forbidden 403

Hello,

I have recently purchased and set up a new AC1000 router.   However, when I access the router using the admin password that I set up,  and try to adjust settings (eg, changing the broadcasting channel from 'auto' to a manual channel), I receive a pink screen that only says "403 Forbidden."  When I refresh, no changes have been made.   I have tried doing this from multiple computers (both PC and a Mac), from different browsers (Chrome, Safari, and Microsoft Edgde) and from my android phone, and every single one of them is giving me the same error when I attempt to make changes to the settings.   Please note that I am accessing the router settings using the IP address (192.168.1.1) rather than the phone app, as I find the phone app to be unecssary.

Any assistance? I have the most recent firmware installed per the updater in the fireware settings.   The internet settings that I input when I set up the router are fine and I am able to access the internet, but just cannot make any changes to those settings.

Thanks.

That kind of behavior is normslly the result of a firmware defect.
You can try a settings reset (and manual re-configuration), but I
wouldn't expect much.

As always, an actual version number would be more useful than your
(or your router's) opinion of what's "the most recent" today.  Also,
"latest" and "best" are spelled differently for a reason.  You might try
a different/older version.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Downloads.  (For older versions, under Firmware and Software
Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".)  Find the kit(s).
Download the kit(s) you want.  Read the "Release Notes" file for
instructions.  (In the User Manual, look for "firmware", and,
especially, for a topic like "Manually Upload Firmware to the Router".)

Re: NETGEAR Router (R6080) - AC1000; Forbidden 403

I have the V1.0.0.44 installed which the router seems to think is the most recent version of the firmware as of today's date (the Netgear site agrees).  I tried installing a previous, older version of the firmware today (v1.0.0.42), which installed succesfully but the router software remains acting the same whenever I make changes (403 Forbidden).
