Bonjour/mDNS for Apple printing
Hello,
We have an environment with a series of M4300 switches connected to one core M4300 switch.
The core switched handles internal routing between 8 vlans.
We have some apple clients on two vlans that need to access printers on a third vlan.
We need to forward Bonjour "advertising" packets from printers on vlan 40 to clients on vlans 80 and 90.
I have seen a number of links discussing Bonjour/mDNS, but none that match up with what we are needing to do.
Can someone give us some guildance on how to set up this Bonjour forwarding environment?
Thanks.
Bryan Hunt

Re: Bonjour/mDNS for Apple printing
What you are behind is Multcast Routing. No idea of the M4300 Series does offer this feature. @LaurentMa svp.

Re: Bonjour/mDNS for Apple printing
Hi Bryan,
For your Bonjour/mDNS environment with VLAN 80, 90 and 40, please use the following console commands:
Access the console via TeraTerm/PuTTY.
User:admin
Password:***********
(M4300)>enable
(M4300)#config
(M4300)(Config)#ip mroute static-multicast 224.0.0.251 80,90,40
(M4300)(Config)#exit
(M4300)#save
Thank you..
