M4100 dhcp reservation

Good day !

So my M4100 is set at 192.168.1.1

I made a dhcp scope (scope1) dynamic for 192.168.1.0 / 255.255.255.0

In the dhcp server setting I made an exclusion from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.99.

Everything works fine except that now I'm trying to make an ip reservation for a specific device.

I made a new scope (scope2), manual, entered hardware address (MAC) and client ID (MAC + 01: in front of it).

the device still grab an IP from the main scope (scope1) ignoring the manual reservation from (scope2)...

I just dont understand why.

I tried to specify the ip address for the scope 2 to be with the exclusion range and also outside the exclusion range without success...

Any idea ?

Thanks for your help !

Re: M4100 dhcp reservation

Hi tlex,

Welcomet to NETGEAR community!Smiley Happy

Maybe you need to set same configuration for the manual pool as following screenshot.

The Client ID is (01:MAC Address of DHCP client)

The Hardware address is none.

The Host number is the IP address that you want to assigned. (such as: 192.168.1.254)

The Host mask should be same as routing interface(such as: 255.255.255.0)

May the solution help you.
