What Netgear device are we talking about here? A router? NAS? Model number?

Re: Remove inactive volume.

Hi

It is a readynas RN316 with 6 4TB HDD. Had 4 drives and installed 2 new ones due to requiring more space.

Cheers

Tony

In that case this isn't the best place to ask for help.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

ReadyNAS Network Storage: Official NETGEAR Community

You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Send a download link to your log zip (dropbox, google drive, etc) in a private message to one of the mods ( @JeraldM and @Marc_V ) and ask them to analyze it for you.

Use the envelope icon in the upper right of the forum page to send a private message (PM).
