Running OSX 10.9.5 on a macbook. Would like to use time machine to backup the files to my
ReadyNAS Pro 2 (RNDP2000-100NAS). Has RAIDiator 4.2.22. Created share named Timemachine and enabled CIFS on the TimeMachine share i created on the readynas, and gave guest access, and allowed everyone read/write access on that share. I can browse to https://10.0.0.200/TimeMachine/ and access the share from my macbook. No username/password required.
Time Machine cant seem to connect to the readynsas. "There was a problem connecting to the server "linksys" the server may not exist or it is unavailable..."
Am i missing something?
Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks

Hmm... Well, 10.9 is quite long in the tooth. I wasn't even sure TM over CIFS was possible back that far, but I found a reference to doing it with 10.8. It might be that contemporary services may requrie extra steps on the client side? Might be worth a try.
