Troubleshoot Hanging / Incomplete Scheduled Shutdown ReadyNas Pro
Would like help troubleshooting why the readynas doesn't complete a shutdown with the scheduled shutdown.
Unit is scheduled to shutdown at 1 am. Sometimes the unit will be found unresponsive in the morning. Has the power light lit up, can hear fan running, but is unresponsive. The display doesn't show any info, can't ping the unit, can't ssh, can't shut down by pressing the power button 3x's, can't find with Raidar.
If press and hold the power button to shut down unit won't turn back on without completly unplugging.
I've downloaded the logs from GUI and ssh after this happened. This has happened on the current OS and previous OS. Only thing I see that might be out of place is one drive has 10 ATA errors. Apps installed are linux-dash (on), PlexPy (off), Resilio Sync (off), and SMB Plus (on).
Unit is a RNDP6620-100 running OS 6.10.3

Re: Troubleshoot Hanging / Incomplete Scheduled Shutdown ReadyNas Pro
Try turning it off via the GUI and see if it does the same thing and if any messages are printed on the display.
You may have a failing power supply. Specifically, the +5VSB (+5 volt standby) power portion of it, which is what stays on all the time to power the power-on/off circuit. But it's a bit early to jump to that conclusion.

Re: Troubleshoot Hanging / Incomplete Scheduled Shutdown ReadyNas Pro
Sandshark,
Thanks for the suggestion.
Posted this about the same time I upgraded the OS from 6.5.1 to 6.10.3. Gave it couple months to see if the "incomplete scheduled shutdown" would happen again. Other change was I switch timer schedule from "state" to "event".
After these 2 changes I haven't had any incomplete scheduled shutdowns.
