Connect remotely
How do I connect to the router when I am traveling? I need access to one of the connected drives.

Manuals are always a good place to start.
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
Check the section in the manual Use VPN to Access Your Network
While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.
If you have problems in future, you might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
Nighthawk Routers with WiFi 6 (AX) - NETGEAR Communities

Trying doesn’t = success, you can try but fail to get it to work. The subject you suggested doesn’t exist in the manual:

Why are you reading the manual for the R6700AX?
Your first message tagged the RAX15, which is nothing like the R6700.
It is hard communicating with someone who tells you nothing useful, and when they do they get it wrong.
How about taking a bit longer and reading the manual you have?
Look for OpenVPN.

Re: Connect remotely
Because when I open Nighthawk app that’s the manual it gives me. The router name it shows is R6700AX. The router has AX1800 printed on it.

Re: Connect remotely
This looks reasonable - the R6700AX model is a 4-Stream AX1800 WiFi 6 Router.
According to Which products support the NETGEAR Nighthawk app? the R6700AX does support the Nighthawk App.
To add some confusion (for whatever reason), the RAX10 is named R6700AX resp. the R6700AX is named RAX10.
Anywhere Access remains available (despite of the fact it's technically based on ReadyCloud technology). FMI: How do I enable or disable Anywhere Access on my NETGEAR or Orbi router? Against all prophecies of doom, Anywhere access remains available beyond of Netgear's demise from ReadyNAS and ReadyCloud.
The subject exist in the 4-Stream AX1800 WiFi 6 Router Model RAX10 User Manual under the tile "Install and manage your router with the Nighthawk app" on p.20 ff. To start with, just connect to your R6700AX router WiFi, and let the App guide you through the process. It will take a few minutes.
PS. Anywhere access still works like a charm locally and from remote on my old reliable R9000.
