A year ago, I was able to tap into both WIFI channels - 2.4GHz and 5GHz. I realized in the past 3 months that I am not seeing my 5GHz channel.
When diving into the router admin setup, it appears the 5GHz channel is fine but is set to channels 36 and higher, whereas the 2.4GHz channel that my phone, TV and laptop tap into are between 2 and 11. I am not able to make the 5GHz go back to 2-11.
What is this change, and how can I revert it back to having a second WIFI channel to connect to? Links to simple explanations are welcome as I do like to learn. But my google research results are way over my head.
FIrmware update:V1.0.4.106_10.0.80
The one similar occurence to this issue appeared to be a result of the user being in Japan. I am in the USA.

5ghz doesn't broadcast on the 1-11 channels.
Theres a reason those channels are avaiable.

what device are you scanning with? Does it have 5ghz? not all devices do

Re: 5Ghz-2 not appearing (Nighthawk R6700v3)
I thought I remember seeing the 5GHz channel on my laptop. But my laptop is from 2015.
I just checked my new phone and TV and am successfully seeing the 5GHz channel.
So that is making sense as to why I am not seeing on my laptop. It is not 5GHz compatible.
Thank you for the link to the WLAN link. This is helping me understand.
