5Ghz wifi not working on NETGEAR R7500 (X4 AC2350)
Hello,
I have acquired a NETGEAR Nighhawk X4 R7500 wifi router. However, I have an issue with the 5Ghz wifi network, which doesn't work:
- The 5 Ghz is enabled in the web interface
- However, the corresponding network is not visible on my devices (computer, smartphone, ...)
- On the router itself, the LED for the 2,4Ghz network is ON (white), but the LED for the 5Ghz remains OFF
I have tried resetting the unit, and also reflashing the firmware (I tried with the latest version 1.0.0.130 and also an older release 1.0.0.94), but without success: the 5Ghz wifi remains OFF!
What can I do?

Re: 5Ghz wifi not working on NETGEAR R7500 (X4 AC2350)
try pushing and holding wifi on/off for 2 seconds?
Might have been a reason it was being sold in the first place.
If its new, might look into returning/exchanging it.

Re: 5Ghz wifi not working on NETGEAR R7500 (X4 AC2350)
Hi,
Thanks for the reply and the tip: actually there is some improvement. 😀
When I pressed the wifi ON/OFF button, the 2.4Ghz when OFF (and the 5Ghz LED was already OFF).
I waited a few seconds, then pressed the wifi ON/OFF button again... and this time, both wifi LEDs came back on!!! (the 5Ghz almost immediately, the 2.4Ghz a few seconds later).
I thought the problem was solved... but unfortunately I don't see the 5Ghz network being broadcasted and received on my devices.
By chance do you have other ideas?

Re: 5Ghz wifi not working on NETGEAR R7500 (X4 AC2350)
so the wifi on/off button is a hardware function that will persist through firmware changes/settings changes.
Could be since you did the reset while it was disabled, something is still messed up.
Try reinstalling the current firmware version to it (in case the firmware is corrupt), then try the factory reset. During the reinstall, don't install from a backup (in case its corrupt)
