Re: 5g less stable
Less stable than what?
You gave us nothing to go off.
You put the XR700 in your signature but didn't post in the router forum for that device.
Is that what you actually have or what do you have?
what issue are you actually having?
The more you tell us the better we can help
There's a support site with access to manuals, firmware, install guides, etc.
Go to https://www.netgear.com/support/
Type in your model number and from there it'll take you to the above.
Its a great resource to start with.

Re: 5g less stable
It may be some time before the images land. To ensure that you aren't posting anything naughty, a Netgear moderator has to approve the pictures.
You can attach images to messages without any delay.

Re: 5g less stable
5GHz (If that is what you mean rather than 5g mobile) is faster than 2.4 GHz but it has a shorter range. This could easily up as being less stable if you are on the edge of the wifi range.
But, as @plemans says, you haven't provided any useful details of what you are asking about.

Re: 5g less stable
The picture that shows says "weak security" not less stable.
Are you not using any security? or old settings?
Try using WPA2.
also an fyi, mac's and iOS starting giving people a "weak security" notice on device that aren't wpa3 as well.

Re: 5g less stable
If your using Mixed Mode security on the router, WPA/TPIK and WPA2/AES, even though your device maybe connecting using WPA2, Apple, in there wisdom likes to let there users know that if there devices detect older security modes like WPA/TPIK being broadcast with WPA2, they will let you know this. So if you set WPA2 only with out WPA, that message should not be displayed. You can keep the mixed mode if you need to if you have older devices that need it. Just know that for Apple devices, it will appear with this message, even though it's connected using WPA2. WEP, TPIK, AES and WPA3 all have been compromized in one way or another. AES is best for now and WPA3 is being worked on and improved from what Im seeing. Not all routers have WPA3 support and some current and older generartion routers may not get support for WPA3 as time goes on. Depends on chipset used and on router mfr design.
Good Luck.
