AC1900 R7000 port forwarding for NAT type 2 on PS4

Question

Helllo, I have recently purchased the R7000|AC1900 Nighthawk Router. I am trying to play online games like Call of Duty Warzone and Madden 21. I keep getting NAT type 3 which is strict and can not play online. I am trying to switch it to NAT type 2 but I do not know or understand how to set up a static IP address or do port forwarding. I need a step by step guide because I have reset my router 5 times now due to confusion. Please help and thanks in advance.

I got it to work. I am able to play online games now but the one game I want to play, COD WZ, only allows a certain amount of people on the IP address port at once. So it’s like limited and I can’t play. So close but yet so far. Thanks to everyone for the help.

I don’t have a modem. I plug my router into the wall port using an Ethernet cable. I use port 1 on the router to connect the PS4 to the router.

Somethings on the other end of that ethernet connection.

Maybe its an ont. maybe its an apartment supplied switch the supplies everyone with ethernet.

It can change your nat types.
