DM200 Modem Date Failure

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday, my whole home WiFi completely stopped working for no apparent reason.

I was using the DM200 in modem only mode combined with the Nighthawk R7000 in router mode. I have been using this setup for almost two years now with little to no issues.

Upon failure, I performed my usual routine of factory resetting both devices, power cycling them and re-entering my ISP login details (as I’m with EE(Orange) which requires login details) however this time I couldn’t log back in.

Rather than using the NETGEAR genie to automatically setup my details, I retried using the manual option, only to discover that my DM200 date and time settings were telling me that it was August 11th 2020 at 15:47:46.

I am on the latest software version available (V1.0.0.66) and I cannot figure out how to change the date to the correct one (at the time the 13th December 2020). I cannot find help anywhere for this issue and since I have had the product for two years I cannot directly contact netgear’s support team.

Any support in changing the date would be greatly appreciated but first here are the things i’ve tried:

1. Going to the advanced NTP Settings and Advanced —> Security —> Schedule settings to change the date, however this only allows you to change the time zone not the date itself.

2. Checking the forum for any answers.

3. Resetting my DM200 3 times however this hasn’t made a difference.

4. Contacting my ISP which tell me that I do have a viable connection.

5. The error message provided by the genie states that the connection to my ISP was good however failed to connect to “www.netgear.com”

Does anyone know how to change the date?

Thanks

   No apparent symptoms, either.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual (at least).  Read.  Look for the
LED descriptions and "Troubleshoot".  Repeat for other Netgear devices.

That might be _your_ "usual routine".  Some of us look at the LEDs
and try to ascertain some basic status information before bringing out
the big hammers.

"log back in" to what?  "couldn't" is not a useful problem
description.  It does not say what you did.  It does not say what
happened when you did it.  As usual, showing actual actions (commands)
with their actual results (error messages, LED indicators, ...) can be
more helpful than vague descriptions or interpretations.

With my weak psychic powers, that tells me approximately nothing
about what you did, or what happened when you did it.

Was it configured as a modem-only or modem+router when you made that
observation?  Connected to your ISP?

Why do you care about the date+time on a modem?  Why do you believe
that it would matter?

Generally, a Netgear _router_ expects to get its date+time info from
an NTP server (which might be specified by the user).  When configured
as a _modem_, I would not bet that a DM200 cares enough to bother, or
that, when configured as a modem-only, it has a usable network path to
any such server.
