Hi All,
Please post here for any update/issue related to the latest firmware 1.0.9.18.

You should review this and maybe revert back to this recommended version of FW:

Since I've flashed Tomato a few weeks ago I've forgotten that I have a router- it's working perfectly getting dust because i do not touch it at all :-)...
Parental control works perfectly, 0 drops, strong signal - save your time and do a similar thing!

Yup.. Seems like the only things that work so far are:
-Flash Firmware with Tomato
-Buy different brand router

I put my R7000 back to 1.0.7.12_1.2.5. So far it's stable, but of course also very old and missing security updates.
What can I do though? It seems that the whole 1.0.9 series just has problem after problem.

- HWAMJan 02, 2018ApprenticeI have a support case. Completely useless!! They only ask stupid questions to keep me busy. I answer right away after I get the question but it takes days before they react again. They even told me that they can't help me. The support is one big joke. USELESS!!!!!

This is a total joke at this point.
Netgear is refusing to fix this issue. I mean I've tried all he different firmweares but the 2.4ghz issue still persists. I'm currently on firmware 1.0.9.20 beta and still no luck.
Does netgear know how frustrating it is to have to restart the router a couple of times a day just to get the 2.4ghz network to work?
This is disappointing since I've always used Netgear products for over many years.
I'm tired of this bull**bleep** for real.

So, after being reasonably stable on 1.0.9.14 today my router decided it was done being cooperative in any fashion. After A DOZEN REBOOTS throughout the day, I downgraded to 1.0.7.12 and then back up to 1.0.9.12, just to see. Well, now it's hung again. It took less than an hour.
Interesting thing .. wireless does not work (2.4GHz or 5GHz) UNLESS YOU WERE ALREADY ATTACHED. A computer that has a session with Office365 is still working with Office over WiFi, but you can't go to any new sites (you get a DNS error). No new WiFi devices can attach. Disabling a device's WiFi and re-enabling means you won't be able to attach!
Oh, I'm on with an ethernet cable right now. I can access the Internet, but I cannot access the login or debug pages of the router!
I'm done with this. I'm going to downgrade to 1.0.7.12 shortly, hopefully just to stabilize the problem. Then I'm ordering another vendor's router (hopefully I can find it in a local store).
I will no longer recommend Netgear to anyone. The 2 people who bought Netgear routers in the last 2 weeks on my recommendation are going to get the advice to return them. My group of friends all have the R7000 -- probably about 10 of us. Anyone who upgraded in the last 6 months is having this issue. That's 10 people who won't buy Netgear again. That's 10 people who won't RECOMMEND Netgear again. We are all tech people. That's A LOT OF BAD PRESS FOR YOU, NETGEAR.
Bye.
- millerman1121Jan 02, 2018TutorSo I'm one of the "lucky" ones that the hot fix SEEMS to be working for. I've been on the hotfix for for at least a week now with no wifi drops. Now though I'm having weird issues with the port forwarding not working for some of my hard wired cameras. Normally I would try a reboot but I'm not having any other issues and am concerned the reboot might cause my wifi issues again.
One of the main reasons I haven't turned to tomatto or another firmware is because I REALLY like the circle parental controls.
Is there any third party firmware that anyone knows about that has as good or better parental controls? Thanks.
