Hi All,
Please post here for any update/issue related to the latest firmware 1.0.9.18.

You should review this and maybe revert back to this recommended version of FW:

Since I've flashed Tomato a few weeks ago I've forgotten that I have a router- it's working perfectly getting dust because i do not touch it at all :-)...
Parental control works perfectly, 0 drops, strong signal - save your time and do a similar thing!

Netgear are a big old company...I'm sure they should be communicating "somehow".

After rebooting my R7000 at least a dozen times yesterday, I downgraded to 1.0.7.12 . That was around 10p EST. It's now 4:30p EST and it's been stable. I've been able to VPN to my router to check on IoT devices without issue. I also ordered another router, from another manufacturer today. My R7000 will get demoted to being an edge access point running Advanced Tomato. Netgear has lost a customer and A LOT of recommendations.
If they manage to fix this, I'll consider putting stock code back on it, but in AP-only mode. I don't see me using the unit as my primary router again.

Thanks brianhelman - I've just downgraded to 1.0.7.12. Nothing else (no restoring saved .cfg, hard reset, etc.).
Will report back my results to everyone after a couple of days in case others wish to try the same.
My symptoms since the upgrade to 1.0.9.18 just over a week ago were occasional (once or twice daily) drop-outs on 2.4GHz band only. And unhappy family members at home trying to access the internet on 2.4GHz-only devices while I was a work ;-)

I did not factory reset first. I figured I'd try the downgrade first, and reset if it didn't take. I'm at about 22 hours and everything is still responsive. - lordbowlJan 03, 2018Aspirant

brianhelman - when you downgraded to 1.0.7.12 did you simply perform a firmware update through the GUI, or did you also perform a factory reset?
If you did a factory reset, did you restore your settings by entering them manually, or by using a saved .cfg file?
thanks
