Firmware corrupt - AC1900

Hi. I triggered a firmware update to the router (which is actually R6800 AC1900) which seems to have failed.
Symptoms - solid amber light on power indicator. When reset (turn off, hold reset while powering on) the power light blinks white. No wifi presented, no ethernet connection.
I've done plenty of reading about the tftp update, and I'm fine with performing that, but I cannot ping the router to establish a connection to push the firmware! I am connected via ethernet cable from my macbook to LAN port 1.
I have manually set the mac ip address to 192.168.1.X (where X is not 1) and subnet mask to 255.255.255.0. Pinging 192.168.1.1 returns timeout.
I've also tried 192.168.0.X. Pinging 192.168.0.1 returns timeout.
I've tried this when it's in the solid amber light state, as well as the blinking white state.
At a loss.... any suggestions of other ways I can at least get the connection so I can try tftp? I've tried to be as comprehensive as I can in my description - thanks in advance!

Try recovery mode:
https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP
Need to press the reset button for 30 seconds then release, then it send to PUT the command and upload the FW.
I had a problem on a Windows 10 PC where this didn't work to use TFTP, so I switched to a WIndows 7 PC and the TFTP worked.
Also try nmrpflash?

Re: Firmware corrupt - AC1900
First indiction is that nmrpflash has worked. Need to run through config of the router, but flashing lights at least. Thanks!

Re: Firmware corrupt - AC1900
Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
Enjoy. 📡
