Hardware update file is not compatible with my Apple OS
Trying to manually download firmware update, as I get this message "Unable to connect to NetGear server"
My laptop does not recognize this file type: R6900-V1.0.2.26_10.0.45.chk
When sent to the Apple Store, it does not recognize this file type, assuming it is the ".chk" file.
So, neither automatic or manual firmware update work.

That's because your not supposed to be opening that file at all. You need to use this file on the routers FW update web page using a web browser to send this file to the router itself:
