Help - Easy way to connect Nighthawk R7800 router and an WAC104 Netgear Access point

OMG!!!  Is there an easy way to set these up!!!! I am not a geek and am really struggling with change ip here, copy it there, go to aplogin, go to router login - and none of it is working!!!!

I am so fed up Im about ready to pitch Netgear and go back to TP or Linksys!!!!

here is scenerio!  I have an outbuilding that I have security cameras for.  I have ran CAT6 to the outbuilding along with power the cabled the ends - all good -  and it is plugged directly into my nighthawk R7800.  All I want to do is plug in 2 cameras to transmit back and extend my wifi out there for tablet or cell phone.  HOW hard can this be????  Please help ASAP!!!!

I have Genie, I have Nighthawk app, I have insight - can you give me like one more app to try?  Please give me a step by step.

1. plug ethanet from router to Ap

2. Run ethernet from computer to AP

(omg then its change ip for what? my computer or the AP??? I cant even log onto the AP

This is rediculous - HELP!  In plain words please dont assume I  know anything!  That seems to be the problem anymore - I do not know how to write code!!!!

None of that is a useful problem description. It does not say what
you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
    descriptions or interpretations.

"it"?  _What_ is?  This (or a cable to this)?:

There's a forum for Business Wireless devices:

          https://community.netgear.com/t5/x/bd-p/business-wireless-for-business

    > 1. plug ethanet from router to Ap
    > 2. Run ethernet from computer to AP

You seem to have skipped step zero:

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RTFM

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual (at least).  Read?

    > [...] I do not know how to write code!!!!

Not a requirement.  What _is_ required is an accurate and detailed
description of what you're doing, and what happens when you do it.
    "Nothing works" does not qualify.

ok - ah - yes - I read the entire manual. I started at the beginning as in any book of any sort.

comments like that dont do much to assist.

So - problem seems to lie with changing IP addresses. Then getting nighthawk, computer and the AP on the same track.  Heck If I have to do all this its basically just another router. If I wanted to change over all my IP addresses to static I could just have used my old netgear N router!

And - I really wish all  your depts (I am assuming  you work for netgear or just follow these strings because you have nothing better to do) - would get their act together about which app they want you to use...Genie, Nighthawk, Insight, or logging in with webbrowser open to wifiext, myrouterlogin,  whatever.com.

Im done with it - moving on - better things to do with my time.  The access point is out, gone...its hardwired out there with ethernet I'll just use a hub and a wifi dongle -

Why does an access point fresh out of the box have its own ssid's that you have to reconfigure???  Its an access point - right? It should be easy to hook up with my EXISTING networks which are already set up at the main router -

I really liked Netgear and have been loyal for like 15 years - not know, way too frustrating to set up and with each purchase it gets harder with netgear. Why do you think they have this forum, so many help links, articles, videos?  Because no one there is on the same page as consumers or the techs, developers in each category of hardware.

Im done - thanks for asking what I did - I did everything the manual said...4 times!
