Internet drops out every 30-40 minutes, and when computer powers on

Been happening since the start of this year. Tried various solutions such as updating FW to no avail, issue is always the same.

router was replaced with an ASUS RT-AC68U few days ago. not a single drop out running a server 24/7 for past few days. bye bye netgear

Are you talking both the wired lan ports and the wifi as well ?
What are the leds doing when it happens?

Yes, WiFi and LAN don't work. One minute after internet drops out the globe LED (internet, I presume) turns red. When internet returns the LED returns to flashing white. All other LEDs are the same (either solid white or flashing white) while connected and disconnected to the internet.

If you connect the wired computer too the modem by passing the router do you still lose the internet connection ?
