Logging Options for R6700v2

I’m using an R6700v2 with Router Firmware Version V1.2.0.92_1.0.1

Yesterday I turned on email notification at: Advanced → Security → E-mail

Now I get logs emailed to me every few hours.  Apparently every time a connection is made to the router an “[Access Control]” message is added to the log and this fills the log quickly.

The current logging is so verbose that it is useless.  Is there anywhere else to customize the log?

I’d like to exclude from the log [Access Control] messages for devices that I’ve named.  Are there any options for what [Access Control] messages are logged?

I looked at the “Include in Log” checkboxes at: Advanced → Administration → Logs

Unfortunately, there are no descriptions for what these choices do in the Help Center.

Thank you for reading my long list of questions.

Ok.

I give up.

I’m turning email notification off at:

Advanced → Security → Email

Re: Logging Options for R6700v2

Unfortunately WYSIWYG kind of logging for emails and logs.

The log section is kind of descriptive for each time If you don't need the ones listed, uncheck them. I only new a few when i have email logs enabled. All other other use, like access to blocked or allowed sites, VPN and wireless access are disabled.

Re: Logging Options for R6700v2

Thank you for replying.

I’m setting the logging options at:

Advanced → Administration → Logs

To stop logging ALL accesses, apparently BOTH these options must NOT be checked:

  • Attempted access to allowed sites
  • Attempted access to blocked sites and services

If EITHER of them is checked then ALL “[Access Control]” entries such as the following example will appear in the log:

[Access Control] Device Lia_iPad_Pri with MAC address 4E:C4:22:D2:F5:A9 is allowed to Sunday, July 24,2022 18:29:13

What I want to log are only accesses by previously unknown MAC Addresses.

Is there anyway to log just new or unlabeled MAC Addresses?

Thank you for your help.
