After I login to the router I get to the screen shown in Screen shot 1.  After I apply the selection I get the message shown in screen 2.  I have been searching the internet for solutions but have not found one that works.  Any help would be much appreciated.  The router is working but I want to tweak some of the settings and get into the router menu.

AC1900 is a wifi speed indicator, not a Netgear model number.

The C7000 in your footer is a cable modem/router. If that is what you own, it has a different default IP address from plain routers.

Check its manual.

Feed in your model number and check the documentation.

Look for the model number on the label on the device.

That has gone missing. And what do you mean by "apply the selection"?

We have no idea which misleading advice you found out there, nor do we know anything about your Netgear device. What is it? I assume that it is a Nighthawk router of some sort.

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

What firmware version do you have on the device?

A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.

It might also help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router, if there is one. The model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?

The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting and can lead to the message you see.

Apologies for all the questions. But you can help people to help you by providing the information suggested in this forum's header:

Subject (Include model number and brief summary)
Model (Recommended - Helps the community give the best answers)
Body (Include additional detail including model version, firmware, OS and environment where relevant.)

They are there for a good reason.

Re: Login

Sorry for the missing information I will try and resolve the issues

Model Number is provided above

Firmaware?  Since I haven't been able to login to the router I am not sure how to find out the answer to this question

OS - Windows 10

Environment?  What do you mean?  The router is located at my home.

"Apply Selection" refers to the message after I get login to the router where the message to select either I want the router to automatically update the router or not.   Depending on what you decide the action is to selection is to "apply" .   After hitting the apply button the next mesage comes up as an error message (see attached photo) so I never get to the menu screen of the router.

As far as searching the internet, I found several suggestions "to reset the router", "clear the cache from the brower", etc. to fix the problem, none of them seem to work.  So my last resort was to try something thru the Netgear support community to see if anyone else had a similar issue with a solution.

Thanks for getting back with me.  I hope this helps.  If not let me know what else I can provide.

Re: Login

We still do not know what Netgear device you have. The A7000 in the footer is, as it says a "Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi USB Adapter - USB 3.0".

That is not a router.

Your second screenshot seems to be the same as the first one.
