Mac genie installer NETGEARGenieinstall.dmg is corrupt

I tried to install the NetGear Genie software on my macs (both on my iMac and on my Macbook) but whenever I download the Genie installer it complains on 'invalid checksum'.

I tried from the download center, from the R7000 support page and ever from download.cnet.com. All same result. Other dmg files downloaded work just fine.

I used OS X El Capitan on both Macs.

Anyone else with this problem? Any known workarounds?

thanks,

Same here... seems to be unsigned.

From Console "Diagnostic and Usage Report":

assessment denied for NETGEARGenieInstaller.dmg
com.apple.message.domain: com.apple.security.assessment.outcome2
com.apple.message.signature2: bundle:UNBUNDLED
com.apple.message.signature3: NETGEARGenieInstaller.dmg
com.apple.message.signature5: UNKNOWN
com.apple.message.signature4: 3
com.apple.message.signature: denied:no usable signature

macOS Sierra does not allow unsigned packages anymore. You can work around it at your own risk:

On El Capitan I think a simple right-click  "Open" from the Finder is enough. Or change the permissions in the "Security & Privacy" Settings panel.

Thanks for confirming this issue. Now I know it is not some weird local issue.

Re: Mac genie installer NETGEARGenieinstall.dmg is corrupt

Thank, I confirm that I now have installed the app. Still, someone at netgear should whip out their credit card for an Apple Developer Subscription to sign their apps.
