Mysterious ethernet connection

Router: R6700v3.
Hoping to get some help as to how to troubleshoot this problem.
Physical situation: Only one ethernet cable attached in LAN1.
Description: On router startup, my PC (windows10) connected via ethernet on LAN1 seems fine. I have an IP address and am connected to the internet just fine. However, after a short period of time (say ~1 to 2 min), I lose network connectivity. At the same time, on the R6700v3, it shows a constant amber light in LAN3, even if there is no ethernet cable physically attached to it. Any ideas what could be the next step in finding out more information about this mysterious LAN3?
Thank you in advance, I appreciate it.
