Netgear Nighthawk R6700 periodic network disconnects

Hey all! I have a problem that I cant seem to fix, my router seems to be disconnecting every 40 -60 seconds and stays disconnected for around 10 -15 seconds, both wireless and hardline are doing the same thing, I'm currently running firmware version V1.0.1.16_10.0.30  (this has been going on for several versions now). I'm hoping all of you can help me find an answer to why it is doing this. I have looked at the router logs and there seems to be no reason why it is doing this.

  • OK so I reset router to factory defaults and still the same issue, I have also bypassed the router and the issue no longer happens

        Hi Null_Sum,

We’d greatly appreciate hearing your feedback letting us know if you need further assistance.

  • To clarify I lose internet access, it will look normal until I try to surf then my computer's will register something is wrong and I hardlined one computer and although it doesnt happen as often it still happens I will try to restore to factory defaults but I'm not sure why that would be the problem since it's been working fine up to a couple months ago.

      Hi Null_Sum,

Bypass the router. Connect a computer directly to the modem and make sure the connection is stable. If not, contact ISP.

  • Hi Null_Sum,

    1. When you say disconnected, is it disconnected from the network or still connected but no internet access?

    2. Check your mode as well. Connect a computer directly to the modem and make sure the connection is stable. If not, contact ISP.

    3. If connection is stable from the modem, reset the router to factory default.
