Hi everyone,
I've got a Netgear Nighthawk X10 AD7200 (R9000) router. Its firmware is up to date as far as I've been able to determine (version 1.0.5.42). This is both from the router itself saying it is up to date and what I've seen on the Netgear support website.
I've looked at the Netgear "end of service" list and my router does not appear on the list, so assumably its still being supported, even if Netgear doesn't seem to be selling this router anymore. The current firmware is almost 15 months old (released 8/1/22). This is very suspicious/concerning/disconcerting for a router that is still being supported (assumably). I'm pretty sure there are many security issues that have appeared in 15 months that need addressing but haven't been.
Can anyone give me a definitive support status on this router? Has it reached end of service or not? If not, any clue as to why no updates? Something seems off about this situation based on my research so far.
Thanks.
Dave

It's EoL.
I highly recommend for continued FW support, go over to Voxels 3rd party FW site and check it out. What's loaded on my R9000 now:

FURRYe38,
Thanks for the info. Thought that would be the case.
I'll look into the info at the links you've provided.

Are you representing Netgear providing such misleading information, or is Netgear once more not up2speed?
Checking these minutes again on https://www.netgear.com/about/eos/ does clearly not list the R9000/R8900 for example (November 20, 2023 as of writing):

The web site needs updating. 🙄
