Netgear Readyshare turnoff HDD when not in use?

I have a netgear nighthawk R8000 and I'd like to know if the router will turn off a hard disk drive when it is idle and in use for some time?

I really don't like the idea of just having my drive spin nonstop while its not needed.

If the router doesn't do this, is there a way or hack to get that to work?
