Netgear nighthawk R7300 Wan port not working
New here.
R7300 Wan port is not working. Beside Wan port, all other functions are fine.
Problem is how to connect to internet.
Can we use Lan as Wan?
Any converter / adapter.
Sorry if moderators find my post duplicate or in wrong area.
Thanks

Re: Netgear nighthawk R7300 Wan port not working
I have working internet connection which is working on other router.
It was working very well on R7300 as well.
But then ( I don't know may be due to power surge) Wan port stop working.
No led light lit up when connecting to Wan.
All other functions including Lan ports are working well.
Any work around to use one of Lan port as Wan port or any Wan to Lan converter / adapter?
Thank you all helping here.

Re: Netgear nighthawk R7300 Wan port not working
It was directly connected to BROADBAND connection.
Which is now connected to other router, means broadband services are working fine.

Re: Netgear nighthawk R7300 Wan port not working
Reason I ask is if that "broadband connection" happens to be a gateway with its own integrated router solution, you could use that as the router. Then run the r7300 in access point mode and wire through the wan port.
Your other option is if you go to its ip address and add debug.htm to the end, some of the older firmwares had a "mirror wan port to lan port 1" option.
so it'd be 192.168.1.1/debug.htm
(replace the ip address with what yours is)
You could always try that option as well.

Re: Netgear nighthawk R7300 Wan port not working
And port 1 worked fine if not mirrored?
If so, then it could be either a hardware failure, a failure on the gateway you're using, or even the cable could be the issue.
If it was just that port bad, the mirror would work.

Re: Netgear nighthawk R7300 Wan port not working
Well I have figured out that my router wan port is fried due to electrical charge.
I am using R7300 now as access point.
Thank you all who try helping me out.
