Nighthawk C7000 v2 Power Adapter Amp specs

Hi There,

My  Nighthawk C7000 V2 power adapter calls for 12V and 3.5A input.

My UPS output is 12V and 3A

I plugged in my UPS adapter and currently is working just fine, but I am concerned the 0.5A difference might damage my box?

Is it ok to use it as is?

Thanks,

Whether the C7000v2 ever actually demands 3.5A might depend on
circumstances.  If you have the equipment and knowledge, then actually
measuring the current it uses might be interesting.  In any event, I
wouldn't expect any damage.  Occasional sub-normal operation, perhaps.

Define "ok".  Is it certain to work as expected?  That might be
probable, but it's tough to be sure without actual data.  Will it catch
    fire?  I doubt it.

       I'd call that a clue.
