I've been using the Nighthawk R7500 for a long time, and I'm (still) happy with it. Now I got another laptop (win11) and I want to access the eSata HD connected to this router from the new file explorer . On my other computers, it works fine. I see (and use) it as but I can't access it from this new laptop because I forgot how to install it... Any one has clear instructions or where can I find it? thanks in advance!
It works ! This new laptop (win11) used SMB2 and apparently my netgear setup doesn't work with this. So I changed it to SMB1 (wich is not/less insecure in "home" networks) and everything works. Sadly enough it's not mentioned in the manual.

If you're reliant on the external, might be time to check into a NAS. A router based one is nice for just starting out, but a good NAS with backup is awesome. I can't tell you the number of times my NAS based RAID array saved my data
