Nighthawk R7800 VoIP setup

So.

I wanna connect my ip phone through my router and from my understanding this should be possible with this router but i cant seem to find anything relevant on how to setup it up. Anyone have some experience in this category and would be able to help?

So if i were to get the "Gigaset C530 IP" would that work my router,

or would it be possible to plug it directly into the fiber box on the wall?

Same as the ATA-like VoIP device we talked of before.

As I said, you might have to disable the SIP ALG on the router if your VoIP provider does has deployed some advanced NAT handling capabilities.

Most ISP only assign you a single IP address on a home/consumer/SOHO Internet connection - plugging multiple devices direct to the "WAN" or Internet port will lead to problems - so this is in general a no-no.

Still VoIP, isn't it @Case850?

Depending on your telephony provider, you might have to disable the SIP ALG on the router -> How to disable SIP ALG on your NETGEAR device using the genie interface

And that does make a difference on the VoIP side? Get a cold beer and relax....
