       Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
    for Documentation.  Get the User Manual (at least).  Read.  Look for
    "Set Up a WiFi Schedule".  What has that to do with Parental Controls?

      Netgear's site said you controled wifi access through Parental Controls, which is why I asked. But as you recommended, the manual says you can just go into 'Schedule' and block, but I set up a Services Block first to adhere to the schedule.

       

      What the manual isn't clear about is if this (I set the services block to "all") will disable the wifi or just prevent it from being accessed. It's an EMF thing. I know it might be stupid, but the wife wants it off and I don't feel like digging around to get it and manually switch it on and off every day.

           Not the same thing.  ADVANCED > Security > Block Services affects
        which services in the outside world some particular device(s) on your
        LAN are allowed to access.  It applies to wired and wireless devices.

           It won't affect the radios at all.

           I'd say so, but you're still allowed to do it.  For that, you want
        the schedule stuff at ADVANCED > Advanced Setup > Wireless Settings.
        Note that there are separate controls for each of the radios (2.4GHz and
        5GHz).

         

           A Web search for terms like "EMF shielded caps" should turn up a
        variety of overpriced quack (but "stylish") headware, too.  On the
        bright side, the radio-scheduling option on the router comes at no
        additional cost.  Whether the router is your biggest threat is another
        question.
