Poor speed after firmware update for Nighthawk R8000

Hello,

I did a firmware update on my R8000 router and my internet speed slowed down to about half of its prior speed.  When I connect directly to the modem I hover around 420 Mbps.  When I connect to R8000, I get at most 150 Mbps.   I used to run around 350 - 380 Mbps. Did anyone else have this issue with the latest firmware update?  How would I fix it?

what modem do you have? 

What firmware did you install?

did you try a factory reset and reinstall? anytime there's an issue after firmware changes, a reasonable first step is a factory reset and manual reinstall (not from backup)?

I did a factory reset and that boosted my speeds back up to the same level as the modem. I noticed the speed test in the net gear app is slower by a factor of 3 than the ones I run from my computer.

The built in speedtest in the nighthawk/orbi app isn't accurate. It rarely chooses the fastest server
