Problems with Nighthawk R6700 as AP

I have upgraded my home router, but wanted to use the R6700 as access point.

Problem: name of router that this access point connect to is 13 characters. Information on page says 16 are allowed. Only 12 are allowed on V1.0.1.48_10.0.46. It seems that Netgear has an error. I do not want to rename on 17 devices!

Any ideas?

   Ok.  Hardware version (plain/"v1", "v2", "v3")?

What, exactly, does "name of router" mean to you?  Page 16 of what,
exactly, says what, exactly?

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Look for something like "Use
the Router as a Wireless Access Point".

Gee, what an enlighting answer. My garbage man can give more information and much less sarcasticly than "Aninode"??

Perhaps you could figure out regardless of what name is to be in the slot, if the pages says 16 characters and it will only allow 12, maybe there is a glitch. Then again, maybe you work for Netgear................

You're welcome.  A Web search for "life is like a sewer" should find
some relevant general advice.

> [...] My garbage man can give more information [...]

I can believe that, if your garbage man can see what you're doing, as
that would give him a powerful advantage over me.

> [...] and much less sarcasticly [...]

As with useful information in your problem description, I can't find
any sarcasm in my response, either.

>  Perhaps you could figure out regardless of what name is to be in the

I don't know what this "name" might be, or what you're reading
(still), or what it actually says.  If you can't be bothered to reveal
any actual information, then, with my weak psychic powers, there's
little I can do.

> [...] Then again, maybe you work for Netgear................

More asute analysis.  Look for a Netgear logo if you want to identify
a Netgear employee.

Auntimode: please do not respond to anything here. I asked for help and you are not interested in that.

1) The above listing IS the version. v2 or v3 were later.

2) There is no help in the manual for this problem. I started there.

3) If you were familiar with this router, you would give pertinent info.

4) The names are irrellavent to the question. It could be "PigsFlyFaster".

Again, I am asking for real help and not an attack. Please pick on someone else.
