R6080 Uncap 100mbps Limit
Hello,
I just picked up my router thinking it would easily handle the 400mbps internet coming into my place via Spectrum. Connecting directly to the modem confirms that this is indeed the speed I'm getting but it seemd that the router is capping this at 100mbps. Is there an easy way to fix this or is the router simply not capable?

No. And yes. It is a hardware thing.
No way to fix it. The router just is not capable.
The R6080 is the bottom of Netgear's range.
According to Netgear's manual for this device, not always the most reliable source of information, the LAN and WAN support only 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX. That makes it slower than many newer Internet services and most modern network hardware. Modern routers support 1000BASE-TX.
If possible, return it and buy a more capable model. Pretty well anything else will be better than the R6080. It s amazing that Netgear made this thing. By the time this one came out, in 2017, 1000 Mbps Ethernet had been around for more than a decade.

Thanks a ton. That makes perfect sense, although the manual was definitely misleading as you said - taking this thing back where it came from.
