R6900 Won't Update Firmware to Beta R6900-V1.0.1.14_1.0.14.chk

I downloaded the beta firmware v. R6900-V1.0.1.14_1.0.14.chk. The instructions said to do the upgrade from a machine that was directly connected to the router via CAT5. I placed the file on the desktop of a Mac Mini and used the advanced interface on the R6900 to upload the file and start the upgrade process. The progress thermometer finishes in a few minutes, but the spinning hour glass below it just keeps spinning (over night) and the upgrade never takes place. 12 hours later and the firmware still says V1.0.0.4_1.0.10.
Anyone have any ideas on why it won't finish the update?
It never shuts down the WiFi connections, so it appears that nothing on the router gets overwritten or rebooted.
Thanks

I tried doing the exact same thing from a Windows 7 laptop using WiFi and it worked perfectly. Something in the Mac must conflict with the transfer process.
