R7000 AC1900 Slow Download speed wired
Hello, Hoping to get some help on my situation from the smart folks. I have Spectrum Internet with a 100 Mbps connection.
1.The speed test wired to my pc from Spectrum modem shows download of 100+ (spectrum.speedtest.net). When wired from the R7000 to the same pc I am only reaching around 40 Mbps (spectrum.speedtest.net).
2. I have upgraed the firmware to the latest (not sure from reading if this is a good thing) but also performed a factory reset last night and readings are the same.
I have read about the QoS but not sure if this is the route I should go or older firmware.
What are some basic things I can check to see if I just need a new router or not? I have read many of the forums but really get lost in what I should do next?
Thanks in advance,

Which version of firmware are you on?
What modem/gateway is it connected to?
After the reset, did you do a clean install or did you use a backup?

Re: R7000 AC1900 Slow Download speed wired
Firmware Version 1.0.11.110
Not sure of the modem from Spectrum but it does work well when connected to the Spectrum modem by itself.
After the reset I just allowed it to come back up from what it came up with with no backup. I just set a password on it for now and left it at that. Same speeds. I can try to find out the modem from Spectrum this afternoon. Just looking online at them it looks like the Orbi RBK44 but I am not sure. I do know that the download speeds are great when connected to the modem itself from Spectrum.
Thanks for the reply a bunch.

Try installing version 1.0.9.42 of the firmware for the R7000. Then do a factory reset and clean install (not from backup).

Re: R7000 AC1900 Slow Download speed wired
What do you mean by a clean install? Do you mean
Install the older firmware, factory reset, then follow the prompts from when it is resetting?
Thanks again for all the help too,

Correct. Just don't use a backup configuration during install.

I installed the firmware you suggested but it doesn't seem to have helped.
Thoughts?

are you testing hardwired or wireless?
Have you tried a different device?

Re: R7000 AC1900 Slow Download speed wired
Hardware only on my pc for now. I have a Wifi tester on my phone but wouldn't that just tell me the speed to my wifi router and not the speed going out to the internet?
I can try another device but the pc works at 100+ on the same wire connected to the Spectrum modem.

I have the Speedcheck app on my iPhone that connects to my Wifi and it says that I am getting 114 Mbps but is that a correct measurement?
