R7000 Factory Reset allowed devices

If I do a factory reset, will the router lose its list of allowed devices?

    Yes.

You have a couple of options.  One is to save a backup configuration file so it can be restored after the firmware default reset.  Keep in mind, restoring a backup configuration file may also bring back what ever issues you are trying to correct with the reset.

Take a screen snip of the allowed devices page and print it out for reference to reconfigure after the reset.

What specific issues are you trying to resolve with a firmware default reset?

The list of connected devices is blank. The dashboard for 5.0 GHz WiFi is 2/3 blank. The dashboard shows there are 10 connected devices and that is correct. The list of allowed devices is correct. The firmware check shows no new versions are available, so I assume its up to date.

Not a good assumption on the firmware.  At the top of this page there is a Downloads section.  Go there, feed in your model number and it will take you to a page where you can see the number and download the current firmware.  Within the user interface, the check for updates feature is usually several or more weeks behind what is available in the downloads section.

Experienced Netgear users, firmware updates are how they become experienced, prefer to manually update the firmware on their routers with a real computer and web browser connected to the router with an Ethernet cable.

Restoring a backup configuration file created with a different firmware version is often not a good idea.

When you see a page on the user interface that is suspect (blank, wrong, etc.) it is often a good idea to clear the cache on the browser you are using or simply try another web browser.  I use both Firefox and Edge and they work fine.

If your firmware is out of date, updating manually is not a bad idea.  I would work the different browser/clear the cache angle before I did a default reset or firmware update.
