R7000 Firmware 1.0.11.110 Internet connected - time synchronized
All,
I updated my R7000 router to firmware 1.0.11.110. This is my first update since years.
Previous version was 1.0.9.64. No issues with updating to 1.0.1.110.
The router is connected to a glass modem with 350 Mbs up- an download.
All settings of the router are left to standard.
In general I am satisfied with the R7000 which has a good range and wifi speed.
Issue is that the router reconnects to internet (and synchronizes the time) every 15 minutes.
My previous firmware V1.0.9.64 did not have this issue and had a clean log after 5 years.
I contacted my ISP and there are no issues with the Genexis modem.
Anyone has an idea how to prevent the reconnection to internet ?

Re: R7000 Firmware 1.0.11.110 Internet connected - time synchronized
The latest firmware continously lost connection to internet, especially 5G network. It's such a poor firmware.
Try the following options in 192.168.1.1:
Advanced--> wireless network (5GHz)-->Channel --> change to 48.
Advanced-->Advanced Setup-->Wireless Settings--> Disable both the following options:
"Enable Implicit BEAMFORMING - Boosts WiFi speed, reliability, & range for all mobile devices"
"Enable AIRTIME FAIRNESS - Prevent network lag when slower devices connect"
Disable "Enable Smart Connect"
If nothing works, the last option is to revert to firmware R7000-V1.0.9.42_10.2.44.

Re: R7000 Firmware 1.0.11.110 Internet connected - time synchronized
I agree that the firmware of the R7000 is not the best.
Would expect that each new version should reduce issues but somehow each time new issues are introduced.
My router doesn't loose connection on both wifi networks. At least I'm not aware.
So changing channels won't resolve anything.
Beamforming is off. This isn't much of an improvement in a small house.
Smart connect is off. It is better to give each device a preferred wifi network.
And yes: revert to an precious firmware is an option. I looked in my logs of version 1.0.9.64. It was almost empty.
For now there are no internet drops on Cromecast, Netflix and Sonos (all these devices have a buffer). I also think that the high speeds of our glasswire makes that it is hardly noticable that my router reconnects to the modem each 15 minutes. Also the VPN and Teams-stream on my work laptop have no connection drops noticable.
Suppose i have to live with it or revert the firmware to 1.0.9.42 and take the vulnerabilty risc for granted.
