If you are going backwards in release number you might still have them (that is from one of the older recalled beta's). However there is NO guarantee they will work. In cases like that you have to RESET the router and then re-apply manually your setting for proper operation.
If you are moving up from and older official release, like V1.0.4 or older you don't need to reset the router but it is advised. In this case I'd give it a try, have any problems, reset and re-enter is the first thing to try. DO NOT load saved settings from any other version into a new one. That seems to be asking for trouble these days.

I think I have no choice anyway, now I can't even log in to the router admin page and for a short time I even lost my 5Ghz signal too. I have to say, this is pretty bad form by Netgear.
Not impressed.

Do a hardware reset of your device. Press a reset button on router and stay pressed for 30 seconds till LED's began to blink. After reseting install your router again. It should work normally.

Try this. I have the same issue. The router page will be accessible from your wifi laptop or mobile phone. Access the router over wifi and change it to wireless AP mode from router mode. Once the router reboots it becomes accessible via lan also on your desktop. But please make sure you have another router with dhcp enabled and connected to your r7000. For me this was the only way to access the router after several hard resets. Even restoring the 1.0.4.28 firmware and resetting the router does not fix this. Please confirm if this worked for you.

Out of curiosity, why do you want to access your router with this IP? After a reset, should be 192.168.1.1, right?

My AT&T Uverse modem uses 192.168.1.1 as its IP and assigns 10.0.0.1 to the router via DHCP.
I just prefer using 10.0.0.X for my home network. Even after doing a factory reset on the R7000 it detects that my router is assigned 10.0.0.1 and sets itself up correctly.

Mmmmh... I see. Weird configuration though, I think.
I have configured my cable as a bridge, so the R7000 gets the public IP, and I assign its private IP myself.
At least I wouldn't let the modem attribute the private IP...
Have you tried to set it up yourself? No DHCP, fixed private IP?

1. You should configure AT&T Uverse modem as a bridge. Or disconnect (temporarily) a cable between this modem and WAN port of R7000.
2. Do another factory reset of R7000.
3. Try to connect (from internal R7000 network of course) using a browser via 192.168.1.1 address or via routerlogin.net
